This morning Tut woke up with a smile and was happy for a little while. He was hungry and got cranky again until we went down to breakfast. He ate some food but he has an odd pickiness where he wants to try foods, but then gags on them. He also changes what foods he wants to eat and if he is crying, he often won't eat anything. So his hunger makes him cranky and the crankiness makes him not eat what we offer him. I think his troubles extend beyond just being picky to possible oral aversion. We will be checking that out when we get home. It is definitely the hardest part so far.
He alternated between crying and playing during the morning and had a meltdown before lunch. Once we pulled out the leftovers, he ate pretty well for once and was a lot happier. Too bad he won't always eat when he needs to. He did very well in the afternoon, playing and having fun. We all went to pick up the visa from the embassy and it went smoothly. :) Tut didn't cry at all. Now we are all set to come home!
After the embassy, we went to pick up Robby's suit. I walked around outside with Tut while Robby tried it on and got everything wrapped up. There was a drink stand right outside so I got a Thai iced tea. Very yummy! I let Tut have a couple of little sips and he enjoyed it too. The tailor gave me a pretty blue shawl which was very nice of them. I think it makes the wives feel better about their husband's suits when they get something out of it too. :)
From there we walked to the metro and took it back to the hotel. Tut did not seem sleepy at all so we did some packing and played. Robby needed to run down to check something on the iPad using the lobby Internet. I didn't think it would be a problem since Tut was more attached to me, but once he heard the door close and looked around for Robby, he starting saying bpai (go) Mommy. We need to work on that, so far he uses Mommy to refer to both of us. :) So we went down to the lobby to reassure him.
On our way to the Mali restaurant to get dinner, we saw the other family in the lobby. They are leaving early tomorrow morning so we said goodbye. It was really good to have another family here to share the experience and help each other out.
We decided to eat at the restaurant since Tut was doing so well. He did fine, eating well and not fussing to leave. :) He was getting very tired at the end of dinner and was really ready for bed. Robby was able to slip out without him noticing to check on possibly finding a day room near the airport since our flight isn't until late.
While Robby was in the lobby, Tut said his first English word besides Mommy and Daddy. It was bottle! I was telling him that I was going to make his bottle and he repeated it after me. :) When he saw I liked it, he started repeating it. :) Here he is with his bottle. I took him into the bedroom and stood holding him while he drank it. Then he said nawn (sleep) so I laid him down on the bed. We actually have a kid that asks to go to sleep. :)
Robby came back up with the phone numbers to call places by the airport, but one of the numbers didn't work so he went back down to the lobby to get the right one. Tut saw him leave and starting asking to "go Mommy" again. Once we found Robby in the lobby, Tut again said nawn asking to go to bed. After a couple of more trips to the lobby, we worked it out with the Pantip to just stay here until 8pm tomorrow and then head to the airport. Then Tut fell asleep within ten minutes of laying down. He definitely was tired, but he didn't cry, he just asked to go to sleep.
Tomorrow, we are going to go to the Grand Palace in the morning and probably the MBK or other souvenir place in the afternoon. Robby is feeling better and I'm not feeling too bad yet so we figured we should try to tire Tut out a bit more tomorrow to prepare for all the flights. It is a relief to be able to stay here until 8pm instead of trying to entertain Tut for six hours in a public place.
Praying for lots of sleeping on the flights and that these colds would go away!

Praying for you both and for Tut, that the Lord would heal your colds and that the long plane ride home would be quiet and uneventful! You both are amazing parents--"they that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings as eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint." May God give you extra grace, strength, stamina, patience, joy, and multiply the hours of sleep you are able to get! Hooray for being almost home!!!
Yay!!! Praise God for wonderful words like smile, "bottle", smoothly, and even generic "mommy"!! We are praying for more words like this to describe your flights, especially slept well!! Soon we will all be saying....Welcome Home!
So glad to hear Robby's feeling better and the little guy is much improved. Praying you won't get it and you have a good flight home.
It is wonderful to "hear" all those positive descriptive words.
Tia and Jonathan didn't like to have anything that wasn't soft in their mouths for the first couple weeks. I think it feels funny to them because they mostly ate bread and congee. The taste and texture are both new. They started eating apples and such when they were ready. It helped for them to see Dallas, Luke, and Levi enjoying crunchy foods.
God willing, you'll be home soon! Yea!
We are sooo excited that you are/will be home soon! Home sweet home! It's been wonderful reading your daily happenings! We'll miss it!
Love,
Damin, Tiana & Evan
Happy travels!
