Robby has a horrible cold, so he spent most of the time resting. I did walk down to the beach with Tut and took him with me to get sandwiches for brunch. He was doing well and even walked a little bit. He seems to do okay without Robby, but he tends to throw a fit when I leave so it's a good thing that Robby is the one who is sick. Hopefully I don't come down with it tomorrow. We left the resort around 11am and Tut was comfortable enough to play around the lobby while we checked out.
These elephants are in the lobby of the Marriott. I'm glad I remembered to get a picture with them before we left. It was really neat how they were made of driftwood. I am really glad we got out of Bangkok for the weekend. It was a nice break and Tut seemed to do much better there.
On the trip back, Tut played and was mostly good. He was getting tired and a bit cranky towards the end, but he didn't actually sleep. When we got to the Pantip there was some initial fussing in the lobby, but he calmed down pretty quickly. We headed up to the room and Robby went to bed. I thought Tut would soon follow, but he seemed stressed by the room. The layout is the same as the first one. I rearranged the furniture a bit and soon he was pulling pots and pans out to play with them. He was doing pretty well in the room.
Since Robby needed to rest, I took Tut out in the ergo. We found an ATM because we used the last of our cash to pay the taxi driver and just walked around for a bit. Tut did well watching all the people and things happening. We passed several food stands and went into a convenience store and he never asked for anything. I think he was a bit dazed in his sleepiness.
After we got back, he didn't like being in the room so we were back to crying at the door. It was about dinner time so I took him over to the Mali restaurant to get take out. He did well waiting for the food, but cried some more in the room. I had to walk around with him a bit to calm him down before he would eat anything. The lack of a nap contributed, but we've definitely seen some regression here. We are only at the Pantip for two nights so even if he doesn't get comfortable again, it won't be too bad.
Tomorrow we pick up the visa at 1pm. Unless Robby makes a sudden recovery, I will take Tut to pick it up with the other family staying here. We were planning to go to the zoo tomorrow and the Grand Palace on Wednesday, but we will have to skip those unless he recovers. I can walk around with Tut alone, but any more involved trips really requires two of us.
I was hoping to visit MBK to do a little more souvenir shopping, but that probably won't work either.
Please pray that Robby recovers quickly and that I don't get sick!

Praying for your health as you get ready to leave. It's hard being sick at a time like this and I hope you are all feeling well by the time you board that plane. Enjoy your last days in Thailand!
