One Month Home!

One month ago we arrived home, bleary eyed and exhausted. Now, we are less exhausted. :) It really is neat to see how far we have come since we got home. We are settling in and have more or less of a routine going. Tut seems to be happy and strongly attached to us. He has even been waking up more at night this past week to make sure we are still here. :) Last Saturday night was the worst, with him waking up crying nearly every hour and no one getting much sleep. Since then, we have taken turns sleeping in his room after he wakes up the first time in the night. It has been working well and last night he only woke up once and then slept through the rest of the night.

Tonight we changed up the routine a bit to meet a photographer for family pictures and then we headed to Menchie's for frozen yogurt to celebrate one month home. :)

On the way to the photo shoot, it was only 6:30 pm, Tut was already asking to go to sleep and saying "naptime." We were preparing for a tantrum filled session, but he did really well. He only really started crying about going to sleep after we were on the way home from Menchie's. He is okay falling asleep in the car seat during the day, but we've noticed that at night he prefers to cry about wanting to sleep until we get home. I guess he prefers his bed.

We've gotten a lot of rain the past week, by which I mean about 1.5 inches this month. Tut enjoyed playing in the short-lived puddles in the yard.

He doesn't really like staying dirty so he was ready for a bath after playing.

It appears that some of the letters were trying to escape the tub. :)

On Sunday, some of our friends from college were able to stop by for dinner as they headed home from a wedding. It was great to see them again and to watch our kids play together. :)

They gave Tut a T-Ball set and he got the hang of it very quickly. Hopefully the video works.

On Monday, we went to a neat indoor play place with the MOPS group and ended up seeing a couple of families from our adoptive families group. It was great to catch up with them. Tut was a bit unsure of the place at first, but once he saw all the stuffed dogs, he was off and playing. :)

On Tuesday, we got to meet a family with two daughters adopted from China. They are anticipating travel this fall to adopt their two sons. It was fun to let the kids play and hopefully we will be able to meet their boys soon!

On Friday, we visited Tut's daycare/preschool to turn in the paperwork and reserve his spot. He initially wanted me to go with him to where the kids were playing, but soon he was over playing with everyone and didn't mind when I went to other rooms in the building. I am glad that he seems to like it. Hopefully the transition won't be too hard for him.

Happy one month home to us!

Love reading how things are going for your family. Tut sounds like he is really enjoying all of his playtime and I'm thankful that his visit to preschool went well. Happy one month home!
