On Sunday night, he started sleeping in his room. He still needs one of us to stay there until he is asleep, but once he is asleep he usually only wakes up once for his bottle between 1 and 3 in the morning. I am hoping that as he gets more comfortable in the room, he may be able to make it through the night without one. He has been taking much longer to fall asleep now that he is in his own room. Last night we put him down around 8:00 and he didn't fall asleep until about 9:20. Then he got up at 6:30 this morning. :( He takes a long time to fall asleep for his naps too. The only time he falls asleep quickly for them is when he is in the car seat like today. :) Not sure if it is just the newness of the room or if he is still adjusting to the time zone or something. Hopefully he relaxes and falls to sleep more quickly soon.
On Sunday, Tut helped Robby wash the car.
He had a good time helping and getting wet. :) On Monday we met some friends at a community pool. Tut never got very comfortable in the pool, but he let me carry him around in it and liked all the sprinklers in the kiddie pool.
Tut also learned about eating a piece of bread with peanut butter on it.
The first thing he did was try to take a bite out of the middle, hence the messy face. After that, he started to figure out how to take bites from the sides. :) I think he still has some learning to do though because he did the same thing again today.
Overall, Tut has been doing pretty well but he has his ups and downs. This morning he was a complete grouch with tantrums every few minutes. Then we went to a friend's house for Bible study and he did very well after he warmed up. He even sat on my lap a few times and snuggled. :)
This was before he felt comfortable enough to play. He was pretty interested in the toy car.
Then he got comfortable and he played with all of Aaron's trucks. :)
He has started celebrating when he accomplishes things. Very cute. After Bible study he fell asleep on the way home. I only let him sleep a bit more than an hour since he has been falling asleep so late. After his nap, he was very cheerful and fun to play with. He enjoyed playing with his blocks. We tried to work on jumping forward with two feet over the blocks. He got it once. :)
He definitely enjoys stacking them. He was also repeating after me the types of animals on the blocks. He had some trouble saying "squirrel." :)
On another note, you can tell how thrifty (cheap) we are by his pull-ups. :) We had a Costco coupon and they were out of his size in the boys' colors. :) He doesn't know the difference and now we have good future blackmail pictures. :)
Things do seem to be settling down. We just need to work on making sure he (and we) gets enough sleep!

He looks so happy!!! So glad he is settling into his bedroom and starting to sleep better. If it makes you feel any better, our kids go down at 7-7:30pm and they still wake up at 5:30-6am every morning. And occasionally at least one will get up in the middle of the night. :-) Okay, and I LOVE the pics of him in the pink pull-ups! Daniel Andrew has worn pink cloth diapers, ruffled girly swim pants, and even pink life jackets (all while we're just at home, of course). You do what you've gotta do. :-)
He seems to be doing very well. Looks like he has been having a lot of fun. Hope you guys are doing well. Love you all :)
He is adorable!
I've been waiting for a new blog post...it's not like you're a mom or anything now..quit your slaking;)
