If you haven't seen it already, this is the post about the day we got custody. It was really hard.
Today, Tut and I met friends at Carl's Jr. to play in the kid's area. :) He wouldn't go up into the play structure by himself at first, but eventually he played in it with the other kids and only kept coming to check on me every once in a while. :) They played for a couple hours.
Then we headed to my friend's house to do a Bible Study while the kids played there. On the way, Tut kept asking where his little friend was. :) Tut fell asleep on the way home and took a long nap.
When he watches a show on TV, he usually plays while it is on and doesn't pay full attention. Lately he has wanted to sit on my lap while watching something. He has become much more snugly and affectionate. :)
We had dinner and ice cream for dessert. We've given him milk and other types of dairy and haven't seen any symptoms of lactose intolerance. So, we will just keep an eye on it but not restrict him from dairy anymore.
After dinner he had a nice long bath and then bedtime. He has been doing really well. The change over the past month has been huge and all for the better. :)
Some other activities this past week were meeting the same friends on Saturday at a different Carl's Jr. for brunch and then going to the Exploreum, the kid's museum here. They had a blast.
Tut loved this box of dried beans. If we let him, he probably could have stayed there for hours just playing with them and pouring them into different containers. :)
He also liked riding this rocking horse.
This airplane and a helicopter like it were also a big hit. We will definitely be going back there again. It was a lot of fun.
We also went to a MOPS play date on Wednesday. (I thought it was Monday, so I showed up and stayed for an hour chatting with the host. It was a good preview because Tut seemed very comfortable there on Wednesday. :P) He wanted me with him when he was outside, but inside the house he played well without me constantly with him. One of the ladies was surprised that he had only been home for a few weeks because he was doing so well. :)
Other random things from the week:
Tut found Robby's boots and wore them around the house a bit. He thought it was hilarious.
We got some sidewalk chalk and tried it out. I think Tut got more on his face than on the concrete.
He has been playing a lot with his trucks and his blocks this week in the living room. He seems to go through toy phases where he plays with one thing for several days in a row and then has another favorite the next several days. So far, he never gets bored.
