This has been a good day, mostly because our home study draft is finished!!! Progress!!!
I emailed our home study agency asking for an update since we hadn't heard anything last week. It turns out our poor social worker's computer died on him and he had to redo the entire thing. And apparently he's being transitioned within the agency to a different position so he won't have to travel so much. Which makes me feel better about the timeliness of future reports. :) I also do feel slightly bad for being so impatient now that I know the circumstances. But I'm mostly just glad it is done!
Hopefully in the next couple of days it will be sent to Holt for review and approval. Then we should get all the remaining documents for the dossier!
As soon as I got home I put the certificate of documentation in the mail to be authenticated. :) Hopefully that will get back to us around the time everything else is done.
I also allowed myself to ask Holt about the wait list when I updated them on the recent progress. There are currently 16 families on the wait list. It is a little disappointing because it is longer than I had hoped, but once we get on the list it will be almost time for the September referrals. So we won't stay at our beginning number for very long. :) I can't wait!
