Our fingerprinting on Tuesday went very well. There was practically no line, they didn't care that we were early for our appointment and the actual fingerprinting was very quick.
The real news is that later that afternoon, I saw that a new child had been added to the waiting child list for Thailand. So, long story short, we decided to request to adopt him. Currently, we have some additional questionnaires to fill out. Then, sometime in the next couple of weeks, the adoption committee for the waiting child program will review our information along with the information of any other families requesting to adopt him. Then they will make a decision about which, if any, family requesting to adopt him is the best one. So that is where we are now.
Over the last couple of days, we've been thinking and praying about him as well as seeking medical advice. As a result, we think we could be the right family for him, but I am glad that there is an extra step so that we can be sure that we are the family God is calling to parent him.
So, please be in prayer that God would work through this adoption committee and that the right family would adopt him, whoever that may be. Also, pray that God would guide us to the right child, be it him or someone else.
Thanks!
