Seven Months Down and Package #4

We are now officially seven months into our wait! Although the time has gone by pretty quickly, this past month has felt slower than the previous months. I had expected it to fly by since it is the holidays, but it really hasn't. This might be because now we are actually "expecting" first approval and are impatient to move on to the next stage of the wait.

We were able to have our appointment with a psychologist on Saturday and we should be getting the letters in the mail sometime this week. I am very glad to have that mostly done, but we did have to go into it a bit blind. We had expected that a family's paperwork would be presented with their letter on December 19th, but since apparently there were so many families there receiving custody of their kids, they didn't have time to review anyone's paperwork. They were going to have a special session today (last night really) to get through some of the cases but we haven't heard if they have accepted this letter's format. So, we did our letter with the "hopefully they will accept this" instructions. :)

We had waited until our update to send the next package because I wanted a better estimate on clothing sizes. It looks like he is still in 18 month sizes and he always seems to wear tank tops in the pictures, so we went with that. :)

We wanted to send a toy that we knew he would like, so we decided on a ball. The problem with balls is that they aren't flat! :) So we found this squish-able one and tied it with ribbons to make it more or less flat to fit in the package. I hope it isn't permanently deformed by the time it reaches Thailand!

We chose this Christmas card partly because we seem to have several monkey themed items in Chat's room and because it is a musical card. :) It plays jingle bell rock and I hope he enjoys hearing his first Christmas song.

This is the tank top and shorts. I hope the shirt gets a lot of use because thus far we have no pictures of him in any of the clothes we sent before. They've probably been reserved for nice occasions or something.

This shirt is 18 month size and since he might grow out of it before he comes home, I thought I would send it now.

 

We also included another disposable camera. I am looking forward to getting them developed once we get home. :)

This is a picture of Chat's completed bed! We did order a Japanese futon and I think it will work well. He may end up sleeping with us for a while, so who knows when he will actually use it. I think it looks nice though.

Hopefully by this time next month we will have first approval and travel dates! :) That's my Christmas wish anyways. Merry Christmas!
