Package #2

It is August! This means that we can send our second package to Chat and that we should get an update on him and more pictures this month! I can't wait. :)

Since Chat's birthday is in September, this will be his birthday package. We tried to make it a little festive by including a birthday card.  I also packed it as full as possible, the weight limit is one pound and the package weighs exactly 15.9 ounces. :)

If anyone remembers the Thailand shirts I made for our family members for Christmas, they would know that of course I would make one for Chat! :) I think it came out rather well.

While I was at Hobby Lobby looking for a blank t-shirt to use, I found a super cute, iron on decal that was perfect for his second birthday! So I got a second blank shirt so I could send this. :)

We found these lightweight shorts to go with the t-shirts. I think they are perfect for the hot, Thai weather.

We wanted to get him a toy for his birthday too, something more fun than clothes. It took awhile of wandering the toy aisles to find something suitable for a young child, yet small enough to fit in the package. :) I'm sure any boy would love these! I just wish they had more "non-branded" toys for young kids.

Same for cards, we did manage to find a fun, non-Dora the Explorer, etc. card though. And it even has stickers for him to play with. :) I also included a thank you card for the foster family. I don't know if they will translate it for us, but hopefully they will understand the meaning behind it, even if they don't understand what we wrote in it.

The final item is a disposable camera. Hopefully they will use it to take lots of pictures of him, especially on his birthday.

While I was resting my camera on the place mat in between taking pictures, I notice that it made a pretty cool picture. So this is my attempt at artistic pictures of my place mat. :)

Hopefully the package gets to him soon! We're also hoping that our update this month will have pictures of Chat in the outfit we sent back in June! We will see.

Looks like a great package, Katie. I like the new shirt, too. It's cool to think of Chat wearing the same shirt as the rest of us : ).
I'm sure the foster family will appreciate your card, whether it's translated or not.
We're with you on the kid's brands. We stopped at Mickey D's on the way to Spokane and the Happy Meal toy was a Sponge Bob one. Uh...no, thanks.

Kirsten, that would be so much fun! :)

Lona, yes it is neat that he will have a matching shirt. Maybe in December we will get a picture of him wearing it. :)
