Paperwork and Packages

We sent out our acceptance paperwork and our first package for Chat yesterday. :) Chat, or Nong Chat (young Chat), is his nickname and that is what we've been calling him so far. Chat rhymes with "cot," for pronunciation purposes. :)

We will be able to send Chat a package every other month. They have to weigh 1 pound or less, fit in a one gallon ziplock bag and be "flat." :) The first package has to contain a kid's album with pictures of our family and a welcome letter. I don't think there are requirements for the other packages. So, we have the album, letter, disposable camera, toy, t-shirt and a pair of shorts. :) We definitely used every ounce and square inch. For any Studio Ghibli fans, that is a Totoro plushie. You aren't seeing things. :)

We've heard from other families that if you send disposable cameras, the foster families will use them to take pictures and then we should get them back when we travel to Thailand. It will be nice to have some pictures of him growing up besides just the ones we get from the social workers.

Along with this package, we sent a manila envelope filled with documents, most of them notarized. I love our bank, we got all but two of them notarized for free and all they wanted in return was to see pictures of Chat. :)

We did go to Olive Garden to celebrate when we got the official approval on our match with Chat, but since our anniversary was just a couple of days later on June 7, we just continued the celebration. :)

Now we are starting to work on our home study update so all of our information is current for when Thailand reviews the match. Hopefully that won't take too long. Here are some additional pictures of Chat, just because he is too cute! :)

Gotta LOVE looking at those pictures!! He will enjoy the photo album. I can almost see him carrying it around. And the disposable camera is a great idea! Mom

Oh, Katie... He is super sweet! How amazing that you got this early surprise. Hope the wait is short and you get to travel soon. Oh yeah, and enjoy your child free time while you can!

Too cute is exactly the right phrase for him.
Will you have to renew your immigration paperwork/fingerprints or will you be in time?

Our fingerprints will expire before we travel, so we will need to update the paperwork.
