I got our fingerprinting appointments for USCIS in the mail today! They're for October 4, at 2pm! :) Yay for the next step!
I'm tempted to try going earlier, but I don't know if that would actually make anything faster. And there really isn't a hurry. As it is, our fingerprints will probably expire before we travel. So, I will be patient. :)
Looking forward to hearing about the referrals this month! Hopefully we'll get the monthly email from Holt next week. :)

Lol--can your fingerprints actually "expire"?
According to the US Government, they do expire. :) After 15 months apparently.
Also, according to China, recently printed birth certificates are preferred to older ones. I guess the information on them keeps changing or something. :P
That's hilarious...leave it to the government to make up silly rules like that. :-P
