This week we got our Permission to Register letter from Thailand! That means that we can now make our appointment at the Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. to register Tut's adoption. This step will make his adoption final under Thai law, currently it is just final under U.S. law. I called the Embassy after we got the letter and they have our file, so hopefully we can finalize an appointment date soon so we can plan our trip. :)
We were also able to get Tut's U.S. passport in May because our local office was willing to accept our adoption decree as proof of citizenship instead of requiring the CoC. Things are coming together!
The other movement this week was that we got our appointment date for Tut's Certificate of Citizenship (CoC). On June 25, we will be attending a ceremony at our local USCIS office and we will get the certificate then. I'm excited that we're close to being done with the adoption stuff for Tut. It will be wonderful to have all the boxes checked off for his adoption so we can just be a family. :)
