Tut got to meet his (currently) only cousin.
He loved playing with baby Evan and often asked about her when she was sleeping. He was very gentle with her and seems to really enjoy babies. After we got home, he pointed at the suitcase we unpacked and asked to go see baby Evan. :)
Tut also got to meet his many aunts and uncles, some much older and some near his age.
Here are all the little ones waiting patiently for their hot chocolate.
We had a great time picnicking in the Rocky Mountain national park for lunches.
We walked around two lakes and had fun climbing on rocks and playing in the water. We stuck to the easy, stroller friendly trails because of the three strollers in our group. :)
Tut had a great time getting to know his grandparents. :)
We went into town a couple of times to walk around. Tia got these cute, pink cowgirl boots and enjoyed wearing them around. We all got homemade ice cream. I got Elk Tracks, which is peanut butter ice cream with fudge chunks, and it was really good. Too bad you probably can't get it anywhere else.
When we were at the house, the kids enjoyed playing together and this is often what the living room looked like. :)
There was a beaver dam a short walk from the house we rented. This is a picture of the beaver's house. We walked down again near dusk and saw the beavers. It was really neat to watch them swim around and gather grass.
Tut did well on our first overnight trip away from home. He enjoyed the short airplane ride and stayed entertained with his trucks. The first night was rough and the other two nights he had a few night terrors, but overall it went well. He was exhausted the first couple days home and slept in until 8:30! We were pretty exhausted after the trip too and the last couple of nights I have found myself sleeping in Tut's room without remembering how I got there. Apparently I have adjusted so well that I don't even need to be awake to respond when he cries. :)
Today, Tut went to a friend's house for a couple of hours while we had brunch and did some shopping for his birthday. He cried for the first ten minutes and then settled down and had a good time. I'm glad it went so well. Next week we start daycare/preschool part-time and hopefully he will become comfortable there too. I'm glad we can ease him into it next week before I got back to work the following week. It is hard to believe that my leave is already almost over and how long we have been home. I am very thankful for all the time I could take off.
