Nothing Yet

So, there was a board meeting on January 9th. After several days of waiting and email stalking our agency, we heard that no Holt families received approval. This is disappointing of course, but also worrisome since we don't know if anyone will receive approval at the meeting on January 23rd either. Hopefully this is an isolated event as the DSDW social worker gets back into the swing of things.

The other big news that has been in developement is that Robby's brother is getting married on March 16th! Since we did not get approval at the last meeting, we will not be traveling to Thailand before the wedding. So, Chat will not be there, but it will still be fun to meet our niece for the first time and see Robby's family. :)

Since the wedding is on March 16th, we will not be able to travel to the second board meeting in March (March 20th). Even if we get approval at the meeting on January 23rd, we would still have to wait until the first meeting in April (April 10th). At this point, I'm feeling pretty good about the prospects for April 10th since we have two opportunities to get approval to be able to travel for that date (January 23 and February 6) but we can't really know.

If we do travel at the beginning of April, we will be in Thailand for Songkran, the Thai New Year celebration. That would be neat, but it would also mean we would need to stay a couple of days longer since the embassy will be closed on April 15-16. So, maybe we would take advantage of the four day weekend and go to a beach near Bangkok. I guess we will just have to see.

The good news is we only have less than two weeks to wait until we hear the results from the next board meeting. :) Hopefully we get better news then!
