Eight Months Down and Zilch

I forgot to post on the 24th which was the actual eight month mark. :)

The bad news is that no families received approval on the 23rd, again, but the next meeting is next week so we don't have too long to wait. Holt said they have no reason to believe that the first approval drought will continue into February. They haven't had any news of social workers on leave or anything else specific, so hopefully Holt will get some approvals at the next meeting.

So, we could still travel at the beginning of April, but it is hard to say. I've heard that once you receive first approval, the rest of the wait goes by very quickly. Probably because you are busy packing and planning the trip and everything. I think the hardest part of the wait will be over as soon as we get that news. :)

For now, we need to ramp up the Thai studying and we just started a little study group with some other adoptive families last week. We are going through a book together. We enjoyed last week's meeting and I am sure this week's will be good as well. It helps the time pass too. :)

The other fun thing is a Chinese New Year's party a week from Sunday. It will be great to see some of the other adoptive families in town. :)

Hopefully February is our month and the month for lots of other Holt families!
