God Is Amazing!

I have seen two examples of God's awesomeness this week. :) He has definitely been at work in my friends' lives.

First, one of my Thailand adoption friends was officially matched with her son from India on Monday! If you are wondering how they got from the Thailand program to India, well that was God. You can read the entire post about the match here, but to really appreciate the saga, read this post first written at the beginning of January.

In short, due to an upcoming military deployment if they didn't get a match through the Thailand program in March, they would have to postpone their referral of a child until March of 2013. Since they were #13 on the wait list, the chances of a match in March were slim to none. Pretty depressing news for an adoptive family. That was at the beginning of January.

Not long after that post, she saw the profile of a waiting child from India that tugged at her heart. India was where she had volunteered at a orphanage and where they originally wanted to adopt from, but at the time they did not qualify for the program. She decided to double check India's requirements after seeing the little boy's profile and discovered that India's age requirement had been changed and they now qualified! Fast forward to this Monday after lots of prayer and consulting doctors, and they have a son! Amazing isn't it? Just over two weeks after posting about possibly needing to delay the adoption for a year and God brought their son to them! God is good. :)

Second, our friends from college were in a head-on car accident this weekend. The car is totaled, but God had His hand on them and a concussion and bruises are the extent of their injuries. They could have been hurt much worse, but God is amazing.

These stories are a great reminder that God is definitely active in our lives. It gives me a lot of hope.

Thanks for the good reminder that God is sovereign in the big things and the seemingly small things. He is awesome.

Oh my goodness, in all the craziness of things, I hadn't checked your blog in a while, so sweet of you to share our story! You've been such a great support. Now we have the chance to pray for your guys' match to come soon! Have fun at the Grand Canyon... we should have shipped some of Chris' extra MREs to you :)
