Birthday and Adoption Update

I had a great birthday! Since our birthdays are so close, we usually just do one main celebration the weekend between our birthdays.

This year we got ourselves an ice cream cake. With the two of us, we should be able to make it last until Robby's birthday on Wednesday and eat cake for four days! :)

Robby gave me a very cool gift. It is a canvas print to hang in our room. :) I like this painting.

I also got a great gift from my mother-in-law. Isn't it a great adoption t-shirt? It is from adoptionbug.com

Speaking of adoption, on Friday I put a packet of forms for the home study in the mail.

This is the list:

• Application for the home study agency
• Directions to our house
• Pictures of us and our house
• Budget sheet
• Copy of our marriage certificate
• Copies of our passports
• Copy of the front page of our most recent tax return
• Signed photo release
• Two copies of the signed financial agreement
• Authorization for criminal history & child abuse record checks
• Copies of driver's licenses and social security cards
• Copies of our birth certificates
• A floor plan of our house (hand drawn)
• Firearms Safety Verification
• Signed acknowledgement of receipt of several documents

I also got our reference letter requests in the mail.

This is what we still have to do:

• Doctor's appointments for medical forms
• Autobiographies (11 questions to be answered)
• Marriage and parenting questionnaires
• Statement from employer verifying employment and salary

I'm glad to be making progress! It makes me happy every time I check something else off the list. :)
