Chat's Room

We did not get first approval this week, but one family that was matched at the same time we were did! So, hopefully that means we aren't far behind. :)

We basically have Chat's room ready for him. There are some little things that we need to finish up, but it pretty much looks the way it is going to. :)

This is the bathroom. We didn't make it too much of a kid's bathroom, but once all the bath toys are in the tub, it will look much more colorful. :) The hooded monkey towel and a Spiderman bathrobe are hanging behind the door, I hope he likes them.

This is the view looking in the room from the door. We put a picture collage above Chat's bed with pictures of his foster family. We plan to add pictures of us with him in Thailand and a picture of his birth family if we get one. The big picture in the middle will be a picture of our family. :)

I also love the futon we bought. Something I realized is that if he isn't ready to sleep in his own room after we come home, we can just pick up his bed and put it in our room for a while. :) Very handy.

Here is his dresser by the bed and the bathroom. I do like the way the dresser turned out. We kinda ended up having an elephant/giraffe/monkey theme. It wasn't very intentional, actually most of the items were gifts or hand-me-downs, but they work well together!

I think this storage/bookshelf idea was a good one too. Since the room is pretty small, we didn't want to have a lot of furniture, but this one serves many purposes. You can't read it in the picture, but the blocks say "Welcome Chat."

The painting is part of a series by Thomas Cole. It is the one for Childhood and we thought it would be neat to have in his room. We plan to collect reproductions of the four part series.

I think his room will work well and I love looking around and seeing all the things people have given him. Such a great reminder of our wonderful friends. Thanks so much everyone!
