The invitations and plates/napkins were so cute! I love that they had elephants on them. :)
This is my friend Barbara who hosted the shower at her house. Sue, who I didn't get a picture with, co-hosted by bringing all the yummy food. :) We had chips, hummus, peanut butter filled pretzels, spinach and feta bruschetta, vegetables, spring rolls and Thai peanut sauce to dip it all in. :) I made the peanut sauce and it turned out great! This is the website of the recipe if anyone wants to try it.
We played some fun games that were international/Thai themed. :) One was a matching game where you tried to match the written word for "baby" with the language it was in. The other one was a Thai trivia game. We also did a nursery rhymes charade game, I was fortunate to get a couple of easy ones. There were some really hard ones. How do you act out "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt?" I have no idea.
Barbara also sent some invitations to some family members who don't live here and asked them to send a note to be read at the shower. It was really sweet to hear those notes and know that they were present in spirit even though they couldn't come.
We also had a delicious ice cream cake. I love that they put "Welcome Chat" on the cake, I just wish he had been there to eat some of it too.
I received so many gifts for Chat that I couldn't fit them all in the picture, but here are some of them. I loved that Barbara used the two elephant toys as decorations for the party, it was adorable! In addition to all the new things from our registry, we also got a lot of hand-me-down toys and things. Chat has a lot of toys now!
Not everyone was able to attend the shower, so some friends of ours took us out to dinner the Monday after the shower. We had a great time with them, after we finally found a restaurant that was open. We forgot that several restaurants here will close on Mondays. So we did a little driving around and then when we got to the open restaurant, we realized they were having a fundraiser for a charity that our church is involved with. So it all worked out in the end. :) We had a great time with them.
On Tuesday, a couple of friends from work went to lunch with me and we had a little "shower." It was fun to get out of the office for a bit and spend some time with them. :)
It was a great week. Thank you everyone!

You got an Ergo--yay!!! And the elephant ball popper will be a favorite...our kids LOVE their ball popper. And those snack cups are one of the best things ever invented. :-) Can't wait to see Chat playing with all his gifts once he comes home to you!
I've heard the snack cups are great. :) It is so exciting to have all this stuff for him! Now I just need to figure out where to put it.
I want to see him running around with that monkey towel on his head. That was one of Robby's favoite things to do as a toddler--only they didn't have animal towels then, just hooded ones.
