Two Months Down

We are two months in to the wait and hopefully only have 7-8 months to go! This month has also been pretty productive and busy, so it hasn't been too hard overall.

During this month we painted Chat's room and started thinking about color schemes and such for furniture and room accessories. Since we've been pretty eclectic so far in our choices, I think our theme is "animals." How's that for narrowing it down. :) I do think that the color green we chose for the room lends itself to interpretation as a jungle or forest, so we're on track!

We also registered this month! We decided to use Target and Amazon. Target is for all those people who want to go to the store and pick something out. Amazon is so that we have practically unlimited choices, anyone has access to it, and they let you mark items as "purchased" even if you bought it elsewhere. :) I think it is a very cool feature. Our registries aren't "final" yet, but we have most of the stuff on there that we should need.

A note of warning for those registering at a physical store. Make sure you have a good list and a firm idea of your themes and what you need. Otherwise you may end up registering for an elephant toothbrush holder and a fish bath mat. :) Of course we already have a wooden monkey, stuffed elephant and stuffed gorilla in the room, so it all fits under "animals." :) But if your theme isn't as open to interpretation, beware the desire near the end of registering to just scan random things so you can leave faster! (Can you tell that shopping isn't my favorite thing?)

Another project we have been pulling together is our second package. Since Chat's birthday is in September, this is his birthday package. We're sending a couple of special shirts, toys, birthday card and another disposable camera to hopefully take some pictures on his birthday. :) I'll post some pictures of it when we actually send it.

I learned today that Holt has the draft of our home study update, so hopefully that will be finalized soon. It sounds like it shouldn't affect our timeline at all, so that is good news. They also said that our update on Chat could come at any time next month. They don't usually come all at one time, so there's really no telling when we will get ours. When we do, I will post all the new pictures! :)
